Savings Opportunity shows the percentage of items that are being checked early enough to allow for action to be taken to use those items before their expiration. Date Check Health prompts the user to check close dated items 120 days before expiration, and again 30-60 days before expiration. The first check is the intervention step. The second check prompts the user to remove the nearly expired items. The number of days, prior to expiration, that each check takes place is determined by your institution and can be modified to best suit your needs.
