How do I change an item's description, location, etc.?
There are two ways to change an item's location or department in Date Check Pro. This can be done while you are in the date checking process, or by using the Search function. While you are date checking is going to be the easiest, and we will walk through that process first.
When you are looking for an item that has come up as close dated or expired and realize that it has been moved to another section (usually the one right next to it), you should click on "Edit" in the upper right hand corner.
In the small pop down of options, select "Edit Inventory Location."
The image below shows the location edit page. You can edit the department, aisle, section, or shelf. You can also edit multiple fields at one time. Once you have changed the location to what the item should be, select the blue "Edit Location" button on the bottom of the page.
Selecting the "Edit Product" option will allow you to edit the product's description and size information. Changes to this information are reflected to all stores.
If the item you are looking to edit the location for is not due to be checked in the date checking process, or you realized it needed to be updated after you finished checking an item, you can follow the steps below.
Start by clicking on the "Search" button in the lower right hand corner, and searching for the item by UPC (or simply taking a picture of the UPC by hitting the button next to the UPC field).
Once you are on the page for the item you would like to update, select the current inventory that you want to change (there might be multiple here if your store has this item in multiple locations.
This process will also allow you to update other information about this item, so follow the next two steps to update the location.
On the next page, you can update the department, aisle, section, or shelf (or multiple pieces of information. Just be sure to hit Save when you are done.
