How do I check close dated items?

Close Dated items are checked by selecting the close dated filter in the upper left hand corner as shown below.  With that filter selected, all close dated items will show up to check.

Once you have selected this list, you can move onto checking items.  Pick the item from the list that you would like to check first and find it on the shelf.  Once you have done that, you can click on that item in the iPad to bring up the next screen.

Once you are on this screen and have looked through every product on the shelf, you can start to follow the prompts on the screen by answering the question above.  If that date is no longer on the shelf and you select no, you will be taken to the page where you can enter the next closest date to today into the program so you know when to come back to the item.

Once you have typed in the next date, the program will go back to the main screen of items so you can proceed to the next item.

Going back, if the date you were looking for was on the shelf, you will wind up hitting Yes to the question of is the date there.  Then you will be prompted to enter the item count.

Once you have entered the count, the program will give you instructions on what action you should take with those items.  Each company has different standards and will therefore have different instructions.  These can include, but are not limited to, rotating the product to the front of the shelf at full price, marking them down with a coupon, or pulling them to be placed in a marked down area of the store.  Below are examples of the text if you are supposed to rotate items or mark them down.  The coupon amounts in the program are predetermined by settings for a goal mark down amount, so your date checkers do not have to calculate the coupon value that the item should have.

If you are asked to rotate items or mark them down with a coupon, this will be the last step that you see in the process.  You can hit finished and will go back to the main screen to start checking your next item.

If your store has a process where you remove those items to be placed in a marked down area in the store, the program will give you the next date prompt that was shown above.  Once you have filled that out, you will be done with the item and can move onto the next one.
