If you are using a Scanfob scanner and hit a text field that you are expecting to be able to type in and there is no keyboard visible, you simply need to hit the very small square button on your Scanfob scanner.  Because Scanfobs are a bluetooth device, they are connected as a keyboard.  This small button toggles the keyboard up and down if you continue to press it.
