How do I connect my Bluetooth Scanner?

If you have received a Bluetooth Scanner from the Date Check Pro team, you should have also received a two-sided piece of paper that looks like what you see below.  There are also two different types of scanners that we have (Scanfob 2002s and Scanfob 2006s), and they have slightly different prompts.  Both variations are included below, but they both use the same sheet.

When you are connecting one of our scanners that we have sent to you, you can ignore steps 2 and 3.  You will still need to make sure it is charged, but the settings are setup for what you need.  Start by scanning Step 4, the Make Discoverable and Connectable barcode.  This will be the same no matter what kind of scanner you have.  Once you have Scanned the Make Discoverable and Connectable barcode, open up the Settings App on the iPad and go to the Bluetooth section as illustrated below.

We will have a sticker with two characters on the bottom of your Scanfob Scanner.  This represents the first two characters after the Scanfob- that you see below.  If its the first time that scanner is being connected to that iPad, it will show up where you see Scanfob 43 (which was the one being used for this part of the demonstration).  Once you see your scanner on the list, click it to begin the connection prompts.

Scanfob 43 is a Scanfob 2006 as mentioned above, and has a much easier connection process.  If you have a 2006 model, it will pop up with the screen you see below and all you need to do is hit the Pair button.

If you have a Scanfob 2002, it is going to pop up with the screen you see below, but the four-digit code that it asks for will be different every time.  Once you have started the connection process, the Scanfob scanner light beam will stay on until you have scanned the four digits and the END barcode on the back of the sheet (see arrow below).

Once you have completed the connection process for either model of Scanfob scanner, you should see the device as connected as shown below.  If you see that, you should be able to move on and go back to Date Check Pro.
